The Backroad Ramble .05K Speed Walk Relay Race

The Back Road Ramble is a .05 kilometer relay race speed walk. That’s right it’s not a 5k, it’s not even half of a kilometer, it’s a race walk in which teams of four cover a mere .05 kilometers. So each walker powers approximately 41 feet. But, it is slightly uphill. In other words, it is the world’s most prestigious .05k race. And, it’s for charity.  And there’s beer. RACE FOR A GOOD CAUSE
The Back Road Ramble is a fundraiser for two of our favorite charities: Farmers Against Hunger and Grow A Row. Their mission is to reduce food insecurity by ensuring access to fresh and healthy produce to as many families as possible. All of the proceeds from this event go to these two fine organizations.

BUILD YOUR TEAM
The Ramble is a team event, and while a .05K might seem like a cake walk, only the most dedicated and prepared athletes will make it into the final heat. We suggest you form your team now, perhaps even yesterday, and start your training for the 2026 Back Road Ramble. When you arrive, grab a fresh pour and your Ramble merch that’s included in your ticket price! Sign-ins start at 9am, the race starts by 10am and runs until approximately 12 or 1pm.
