The Back Road Ramble

A slightly uphill .05K speed-walk-relay to trounce hunger

NOVEMBER 6th.   Proceeds from the day will be donated to Farmers Against Hunger. Assemble your team of athletes and sign up today!


Prizes will be Awarded for the following categories:
—Most creative bib
—Bib most likely made by a small child
— Worst speed-walking form
—Best farm-themed bib
—Best costume
—Best beer-themed bib
—Best speed-walking form

Sign up at the brewery during taproom hours only.  

Teams of 4 will provide all participants names, shirt size and email to reserve a spot.  Cost is $120 per team. 
Participating athletes will receive a t-shirt, pint glass, .05k magnet and bragging rights.

All racers must be 21 years old to participate, this is not child’s play.  No dogs, no strollers.
Olympic speed-walking rules and regulations will be enforced.  
Loss of Contact:  One foot must be in contact with the ground at all times. 
Bent Knee:  The moment the leading foot touches the ground and until the leg passes  under the center of the body, the knee is not allowed to bend.  
Failure to comply with strict rules will result in disqualification by a trained referee.  

Friends don’t let friends drink and drive, and they sure as heck don’t let friends run in a speed-walk.  

Keep those feet on the ground, and keep your eye on the finish line.
10 teams competing per heat.  Winning teams from each heat compete in the final heat to crown the champions.

Winning team will be awarded prizes, and showered with high fives.  Low fives upon request. 
All competitors are expected to create their own race bib.  Costumes are encouraged.  Awards available for outstanding costumes and bibs.  

Performance enhancing drugs strictly prohibited.  Unless it’s our beer, then go right ahead.  

Allentown antique fire truck museum will be in attendance with trucks.  -Participants and spectators are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for donation.

Check in/ stretching starts at 10 am, racing starts at 11am.  Spectators are welcome and encouraged to come and cheer on their favorite athletes.  The taps will open early on race day.  

Remember, rubbin’ is racin’ but let’s keep it clean and respectable out there on the racetrack.  

Guests must sign a waiver before entering the gauntlet.
